EUROPEAN LAW

Throughout case handling and within the frame of searching for the applicable legal regime, the relevant provisions of community law and of European Convention on Human Rights (E.C.H.R.).Even if the case does not present a direct link with EU law, the research of  EU law rules and relevant jurisprudence of the European Court of Justice, it is necessary in order to clarify the interpretation of the primary and secondary european law rules as well as the national law rules which incorporate EU directives.
 

Furthermore, in civil rights cases particularly, Greek law and the judgments of the Greek Courts are being studied under E.C.H.R. and the jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights.

• Submission of requests before the Greek courts in pending cases for the interpretation of EU law by the European Court of Justice (request for a preliminary ruling).

• Handling cases about requests for a preliminary ruling and relevant representation before the European Court of Justice.

• Handling cases before the General Court (formerly Court of First Instance).

• Drafting opinions on the interpretation and application of european law.

• Drafting complaints to the European Commission and reports to European Parliament on breaches of EU law.
